28.02.2017

This evening at the Daile Theatre, we have entrusted this award to our project manager Klavs Balamovskis, as we are currently in the Netherlands preparing for a nine-concert tour.

The Latvian Radio Choir, Ensemble Sarband and conductor Kaspars Putniņš  were awarded the “Golden Microphone 2017” Academic Music Album of the Year from amongst five professional collaborations.  The recording “Canticum Canticorum. Augstā dziesma", produced in 2016 by “Latvian Concerts”, was a multi-year major project with the goal of fusing the sound of a contemporary Western choir with the wonderful instruments and traditional Ottoman singing tradition into a new universe.
