Four Latvian ghost stories is a concert project by Kaspars Putniņš, Jēkabs Nīmansi, Reinis Suhanovs. Together they create a unique project which explores Halloween phenomenon in a Latvian way. Veļu laikā, which in our folklore is the name of comprehension for October, November, days become shorter, mornings foggy but evenings satiate with darkness and Latvian Radio Choir deranges traditional boundaries. Programme is a reference to anxiety in nowadays society, in an appealing way of research coherences. Horror as a material of psychology is attendant in every culture. It helps us understand nature of our fears. In culture of Latvians ghost stories usually are ironic, grotesque and full of humour.
One black, black night, one black, black city, one black, black street, one black, black house... three evenings will create an atmosphere of black comedy using lights, sound, theatrical and multimedial effects.
